Need Details!!

Post by wrhorer »

My truck is a 08 GMC 2500HD with the 6.0 gas with 33x12.5x20 tires.... 6 speed auto trans. I havn't purchased a programmer/tuner for my truck but will this week. Every programmer I've researched says that the 6 speed tranny can't be tuned in my truck and limits other perimeters. I am looking at the Trinity now but i havn't seen any details on approx. HP gains, economy, towing, or if my 6 speed(shift points) can be tuned wth this program. I like the format of the Trinity but I'm very undecided and confused on wich programmer/tuner is best for my truck. My truck is spongy on takeoff and needs more power for pulling.....i usually pull a 30' 5th wheel and 30' aluminum horse trailer. Any help will be appreciated!!!

Trinity should be able to tune your tranny. Its the 6L80, right? The Trinity tunes my 6L90 fine.
You should get about 15-20hp throughout the rev range.

There really are no other tuners. DiabloSport offers the only tuners that allow custom tuning to suit your mods, and to dial in your specific vehicle. None of the other handhelds allow that. To many people, thats reason enough to buy from DS.

Not sure if its the 6L80 or not.........I have the vin# if it wld help...the 8th digit is "K"(seems like that matters on these trucks)....its a 6 speed auto. I jst want to make sure im getting the right programmer that i can utilize to its full potential for that amount of money. I dont want to be dissappointed....lol!!
