bought used truck w/ predator

I bought a 2004 f250 6.0 diesel truck a few days ago. It has the predator toggle switch mounted in the dash. Here's the problem, the truck didn't come with the handheld programmer thing. Am I screwed? Does this mean if I want it to work properly I should buy a whole new kit? Could it be programmed and working great and I don't need to worry about it? Or should I remove it?? Please let me know how to go about this.

The Predator does not have a toggle switch, so I am not sure what you are referring to?
Thanks

there is a 3 position toggle swith with a predator sticker indicating each position as: "off", "performance", and "towing". The truck is freakin' fast, which leads me to believe that the programmer is working. I am going to tear apart the dash tomorrow to really check it out, but in the meantime, any thoughts?

Sounds like a chip, but we dont have chips for the 6.0 trucks.
Thanks
