Trinity/Preditor Rear O2 Sensors

Good morning/afternoon:

Question: I am readying myself to tune a 02 Zo6 Corvette. I originally had purchased a Predator, but then upgraded to the Trinity. Have yet to use either.

The vehicle to be tuned will be absent of CATS; thus, will need to have the rear o2 sensors deactivated. Using the Predator, my understanding was that I could turn off rear CAT sensors to prevent codes with my own personal custom tune, not one provided by Diablo. Now, from my research (i.e., have yet to use either tuner), it is my understanding that I cannot turn these off with my own custom tune when using the Trinity - and would I have to have be provided by you with a custom tune. Is this correct, that I cannot any longer personally custom tune out the rear o2 sensors with the Trinity, but could of with the Predator?

Nope. Its illegal to alter any emissions control device. They aren't gonna help you break the law and get fined for it, so the option was removed.

You should definitely reconsider removing the cats. First, high flows hardly flow any less then straight pipes. Second, I was informed recently that even if your state doesn't have inspections and emissions testing, the EPA is free to test any car, at any time, being operated on public roads. You fail, you lose the car. Instant impound. If thats not good enough reason to stay legal, then nothing is.

No desire to break the law - the tuning is for a track use vehicle only.

The car isn't used on the street at all? Then just run catalytic O2 spacers. They're spacers for the sensors that have mini cats built in. They aren't in the exhaust path, so theres no restriction.

no, you can't do the O2's with the predator's either... that functionality was removed many years ago due to EPA regulations...

if you want to use the trinity and have the necessary trouble codes and related items disabled, you will have to get a custom tune done for it/your car... I do those tunes for $35...hit me up if interested...
