6.2 Raptor/F150 support!!

Post by mikel »

Today we are releasing support for the 6.2 F150 and Raptor models.

Tunes for 87/91/93 octane are available, with solid power gains everywhere.
One of our Raptor Beta testers is reporting a 2 MPG increase over the 'competitors' tune he had previously :)

Let me know if you have any questions!

Mike,

I own a 2011 F-150 Raptor SVT and i am interested in the Trinity product. I have a few questions:

1.- If I install the 93 Octane tune, what happens if I fill with 91/89 Octane gas?

2.- If I install the 91 Octane tune, what happens if I fill with 93 Octane gas? Also, after installing the 91 tune, what happens to my original factory settings backup? Does it stay in the unit or do I need to put it first to stock before changing from the 91 tune to the 93 tune.

3.- Hows is the "Off Road Mode" in the Raptor affected by any of these tunes? According to Ford, once you engage the "Off Road Mode" in the Raptor, this mode will use different calibrations for the engine and transmission.

4.- And finally, I have currently installed in the Raptor, a Roush CAI and Roush exhaust, will the 93/91 tunes work with my setup of do I need to modify them to allow for these installed items.

Thanks so much.

You will need to run the octane fuel for the tune you are running. If you run the 93 tune, run 93 or higher fuel ect. MikeL will have to comment on the off-road mode. Never run a tune set for an octane high than what you have in the tank. With your modifications you should be fine running the pre-loaded tunes, but a custom tune could yield a little more and be dialed in exactly for your vehicle.

3. We did a bunch of homework on the off-road mode and it is not affected by the tunes, so it works the same way regardless if the vehicle is tuned or not :)

Thanks, are the tunes in the Trinity and InTune the same?
The reason that I ask is that when I search on your website for products for the raptor, it shows the Trinity and the InTune and under the specific tune information it shows different output numbers.

For the Trinity's 93 Octane it shows 15 Tune HP and 18 Tune TQ

For the InTune's 93 OctNe it shows 20 Tune HP and 25 Tune TQ

And, lastly can the registration for either of these products be done on a MAC or is it only Windows based?

sounds like a database issue, gains are the same for either tool.

registering on a mac wont work, we can register it for you though :)

Well here are my first impressions. Received the Trinity yesterday. Today I connected first to my office PC, registered the device, then got on the phone with Mike to go over some questions on the update process. Mike was very helpful. I selected the vehicle type 2011 F-150 6.2L and then completed the update. Got home this evening, connected the Trinity tuner to my truck and followed the tune process. During the "read/backup" process at about 40%, the productivity panel in my dashboard started to show several faults such as: low engine oil, hill descent fault, advancetrack fault. Then the needles on all gauges started to quickly flicker/vibrate. On the trinity screen however the backup process proceeded OK. Once the backup completed, then proceeded to install tune. I noticed that on this version there was only 87 octane and the performance tune. I selected the performance tune which stated to use minimum 89/91 octane or 93 octane. Continued with the install, the gauge needles flickered again, and the faults poped up again. At the end of the write process, switched the ignition key on/off as requested by the trinity tuner. The faults disappeared from my dashboard, then disconnected the unit, and started the truck. Wow!!! The engine roared amazingly... First thing I noticed that my miles to empty read out jumped from 330 to 400. My gas tank had about 21 gallons left (full is 26),. I then proceeded to my nearest gas station to fill up. The miles to empty then jumped to 453 (never seen it this high), then drove on Manhattan's West Side Hwy. The acceleration and response from the gas pedal is awesome! Transmission shifting is sportier and firmer. There is no acceleration response lag.. The ride is great!! Tomorrow I will be heading to a 150 mile ride thru Long Island and I bet it will be great. Thanks so much. Great product. So far on hwy driving I can see a gain of almost 3mpg. Aside from this tuner, my raptor has the Roush CAI and Roush cat back exhaust with 23,500 miles. :D

Probably needs to be updated. Download DsDownloader and then plug it into PC and it should update itself.

well just got my trinity, wanting to use it on a 13 6.2 Raptor but it wont let me register the tool it keeps saying invalid number or something. so I cant update it. I pluged it in and just tried the 91 octane f150 tune and it went through all the light flashing and so on but when I try to use the monitor option it says waiting on me to start my truck. The truck is already started during this and it doesnt monitor jack. Hmmm wondering if this was a bad choice? insight please?
