Gremlin in my tune when temps hit 80 or better

Post by PlumCrazyDaytona »

My car is an 07 Dodge Charger, 5.7 I am using a custom tune on a u7135 predator custom tuned using the 9r07crom

Here is the deal I am running a custom tune, I am running a SRT MAX cam on a 112LSA, ported polished heads that are milled .030. I am also running 1 step colder pllugs to combat detonation along with a 170 t-stat with fans set accordingly. Also I have 3.91 gears and a 300 stall convertor...

Now this is what is happening, and my tuner and I thought we had this resolved last year.....but its back so that leads me to believe the gremlin is in the tune..

If the outside temps are over 80 and if I get stuck in traffic or abuse the car hard enough to get the car to run over 183 degrees per EVIC I get the following issues....

1. Autodrive, car will act like the cruise is set at certain speeds mainly under 45 braking will slow the car but it will gradually climb back to speed.

2 During times of Autodrive if I place the car in neutral and rev it up, it will hold the rpm, meaning if a slight rev to 2k is done it will hold the rpms at 2k it will hold the rpms until I come to a complete stop and then the rpms will fall to an idle

3 Last.....I also get a weird surge off idle or as I cruise slowly through a gas station or parking lot, it reminds me of a car that is either to lean or has too much initial timing..

Once I get the car cooled back down under 181 degrees all the above issues disappear but will reappear if the motor gets above 183 under 181 and it runs and acts as it should

So what can I do to help my tuner isolate this? I would really like this issue gone

Thanks

Dave

Mike,

Thanks for verifying its in the tune....I knew that you goof...I just didnt know where in the file tables to have my tuner look at things.

No biggie he believes he can fix it, even though the behavior is very odd and not something easily logged.

I will post up when we have this resolved
