Which parameters to log

ok,I did about 100 miles on diablo tune on my 08 vette
The car responds awesome,and the middle (firm) TCM suites me well.At idle I can feel the "tension" in the drivetrain -it'a a good thing!
Going to do my first log-to be efficient,which parameters should I choose?I definitly do the air/fuel and fuel slopes.

There shoud be a dashboard for GM Gas. That has everything you need to log.

nah, its missing a couple things... like Equivalence Ratio, and MAF Sensor Frequency....

these are the parameters you need to make sure you log:

Equivalence Ratio = Under FUEL menu

Long Term fuel trim bank 1 = under FUEL menu

Long Term Fuel Trim Bank 2 = under FUEL menu

Spark Advance = under IGNITION menu

Intake air Temp = under INTAKE menu

MAF Sensor Mass Air Flow = under INTAKE menu

MAF Sensor Frequency = under INTAKE menu

Total Knock Spark Retard = under MISFIRE menu

Engine Speed (RPM) = under PERFORMANCE menu

Absolute Throttle Position = under THROTTLE menu

What does he need that stuff for? He can't do a tune, so its useless.

that info helps you to determine fueling adjustments, like injector slope for the fuel trims....

you need to take into account the intake air temp, at what rpms you're driving at, how much throttle you're giving it, etc etc... so yes, when going through the logs manually, or to use dslogredux, you need that info...

you can't just log fuel trims and base adjustments on those alone.. you need to know that other data as well... because not all fuel trim data should be used to determine your adjustment.... you need to be within certain guidelines/parameters when using log data to determine avg. fuel trims and what you should adjust to...

Equiv Ratio and MAF Frequency are useless to most people, is what I was saying. Without CMR, we can't change enough to make it worthwhile to log extra crap and slow down the other readings.

i'm not saying to add those 10 parameters to the preset log layouts... cuz there's crap logged in the preset pid list that you don't need either... I'm saying to make a new log setup, and ONLY select/log those 10 parameters...

dunno how fast your car/e67 ecm is able to transfer data for logging, but I know with my car, gto's, etc all E40 vehicles, and vettes, and trucks, all E38 vehicles etc etc.. .logging only those 10 parameters I listed, we (e40/e38 owners) get about 160 rows of data per second from all of them... plenty fast enough and plenty of data in a 5 minute log...

Mike, if you use the DSLogredux software you need to have those logged or the software will not analyze your log to make adjustments to the LTFT's and wot timing. So it is relavent and needed for us common none CMR people.

I can't use Redux. Mike Litsch says its not accurate because of the variable fuel pump and other stuff.

Yeah, would take quite a bit of computing to get that working, besides, i dont think redux is going to do squat with 105 lb injectors

They're only 95#s (1000cc).

The fuel pump duty cycle PID doesn't work on this car either.
