monitor compatibility

as of now i have a pyrometer guage to monitor my egt. as a lot of others i am terrified of ruining my truck. are all digital monitors (i.e. edge platinum) with the electronic shut off safety feature for high egt compatible with the predator tuner? or which ones are and which would you recommend. also i have heard many different tempurature degrees for the "DANGEROUS" level. at what temp does a person begin ruining his/her engine. for some odd reason when my pyrometer guage was installed, they installed the probe at the beginning of the down pipe. is this an accurate reading location? Yes an accurate location. 1000-1500 degrees depending on selected tunes and whats modified to your truck.
