Here's a new one.
Here's a new one.
I was driving on an Interstate yesterday at 65 mph (cruise control) and sometime between when I first entered and then exited the interstate, my transmission started shifting fairly hard. As the only changes I've made are to the speed limiter (155mph), tire size (265 70 16 from 235), and the Diablo 87 octane perf tune, I didn't expect this one. The only "event" I noticed was the OBD II cable came loose at the Trinity end and the device shut off. I plugged it back in. I didn't have any evidence that the tune changed. Not even a hesitation. I haven't mounted the Device permantly yet and have accidently disconnected the cable a couple of times before with no adverse effects. I immediately pulled over and restored the factory tune. Shifts returned to factory normal and I drove home. Then, I restored the DS setup and no problems at all. The only thing I noticed is the Trinity wrote to both the PCM and TCM this time instead of just the PCM as it had in the past. (BTW 1r09e) As the situation was corrected easily and there are no ill effects, this is more of a HUH WTF???? message. Since I wasn't logging, just monitoring at the time and I doubt I can reproduce the situation on demend, is there anything I should be looking for or logging in the unexpected event that it would happen again? (BTW, STILL love the tune. 23+ mpg when I can keep my foot out of it and it will HAUL ASS!! not bad for a V8 crew 4x4 Colorado)

Re: Here's a new one.
thats odd, cant imagine what happened.
sounds like tcm support for your trans was not even there until you updated it, so it couldnt have done anything to the TCM previously...

In the 1r09ea update the trans wasn't included and was not even accessable. The 1r09e update had the capability but I didn't use any of the features. I did notice that the TCM was programmed with the "e" version. Anyway, restoring the stock tune and retuning with the 87 octane eradicated whatever gremlin popped up. I'm not about to try to duplicate it either.
