This is on a 6.1 hemi, was wondering if the 93 octane tune will be safe if I'm running 94 octane fuel with 10% ethanol in it?
Thank You
93 octane tune question.
Re: 93 octane tune question.
Gonna have to log it. The Hemi likes to knock so you'll probably still have some KR on shifts. Do you have a catch can?
Re: 93 octane tune question.
Catch can has just been ordered. Both units (intune and catch can) should arrive about the same time. Just curious as to what tunes I can play with having 94 octane e10 fuel available. But still be safe.Mike_Levy wrote:Gonna have to log it. The Hemi likes to knock so you'll probably still have some KR on shifts. Do you have a catch can?

Re: 93 octane tune question.
How does the Catch Can factor in?
Re: 93 octane tune question.
The catch can is a PCV filtration unit. It is there to stop the oil coming from the PCV entering the intake. The cleaner the intake the better the performance.
If you can, delete the EGR too!

Re: 93 octane tune question.
Right. without a catch can, oil coats the intake manifold, and will go into the chambers with air. Motor oil doesn't burn, so it causes knock. Same thing with gas additives and cleaners, they go into the chambers, but won't burn and the result is poor combustion and knock retard.
