I have access to an old laptop (don't laugh it's free) Pentium II, 64 Mb ram, Windows 98. Is there any chance that it would be able to run the DataLogging software?

I have a test laptop here with 128 MB of ram that has worked in the past, but just barely. With 64 MB of ram you are probably pushing it. Give it a try, though, with version 1.9.6.6.

From the downloads page for your tool, or from the
DataViewer Release Downloads Thread

Most programs work better with more ram, however if you have a big enough swap file, thereatically most any app will work, just very slow. For Win98 try 1024 meg min and max. Just be very pacient. Close out all other appliacations. Press control alt delet and end task everythign except explorer, then launch the program you are wanting to run.
