More inTune weirdness, please fill me in!

Post by Ryan500 »

So I got my intune all updated and working, tuned my 2011 GMC 1500 with 5.3 to the 87 Octane tune, only adjustment I made was for tire size.

Saved the backup file on my PC from the first time, just incase (because I get scared when I read stuff on here lol).

Now today, went to adjust some shift points on it. Was changing paramenters in the tuner, I did not restore my vehicle first. When I wrote it, it said saving origional backup, so it the backup on my intune now the 87 Octane tune with modified tire size?

Now I have 4 files in my tunes, Last written for both TCM and ECM and backup for the same.

I thought it would not let me write over the very origional factory backup.

Am I wrong here or what?

If I was to return it to stock for a dealer visit would I have to put the saved origional backup in the tunes folder instead of the second backup (which i believe is the 87 Octane with tire size adjustment)?

the tool will not save a tune as a backup, so I think you were stock when you went to load the tunes again.

If you are not sure, post up the tune here and we can check them out.

Here is the first backup it made, I'm assuming its stock tuning.

Pretty certain it had a tune on it, it was shifting much different than stock.

Next post will be the new backups

Good to know,

Now here are the new files it made the second time I tuned.

Are the ECM and TCM backups on this one stock still?

Thanks,
