Can't connect on Win7 Pro 64bit

Post by kwkride »

I can't connect my inTune to my computer which is running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. The first time I plugged it in, it tried to find drivers and was unsuccessful. Now when I plug it in it doesn't try, but the inTune does show up in the device manager under "other devices" but there are no drivers installed.

There is no intune drive or Diablosport drive showing.

I plugged the inTune in to a WinXP computer and it worked fine. I registered the device and allowed it to update.
I copied the contents of the Diablosport and inTune drives and saved them on my Win7 machine.

What should I do next to get this to work under Win7?

Thanks,
Jim

I'm the administrator on the box.

I'm guessing that I need Win7 compatible drivers for the device.

everyone in this office has a Win7 PC in front of them, and the same intune driver is loaded to all of them..

try this
open my computer
right click on diablosport cd rom drive and select open
then right click the intune.exe and select run as administrator, and it should load the drivers.

FWIW, the driver is ONLY used for live streaming data to the PC from your car, it is not needed for updates, custom tunes, etc.

On the Win7 machine there is no diablosport cd rom drive like there was on the XP machine.

While the inTune was connected to the XP machine, I copied over the diablosport and the intune directories to my Win7 machine. With the intune connected to the Win7 machine, I then tried running the intune.exe file that I had copied over, as administrator, and received an error. I'll try it again tonight so I can get the specific error.

When I first connected the inTune to my Win7 computer I received this error.

Now, if I try to run the intune.exe that I copied from the WinXP box (as administrator)

I receive an error that says "Failed to detect inTune Application will Now Close"

the .exe lives on the intune cd rom drive, so I dont think it will run without that drive present.

This has to be a PC based issue, as it works fine on the other PC...

I have Win7 Pro 64bit as my machine.. and have no problems...

make sure you have an Administrator account.. and also disable the UAC crap for your user account....

go to the user account settings.. go to User Access Control... put the slider all the way down to the bottom.. save/ok the change... reboot... should be good to go...

that's all I had to do and I've had no issues...

Mike,

Could you elaborate on how to live stream data from the Intune to the PC?

I have not had any success doing this. I have Dataviewer 3.3 installed and my Itune shows up in control panel as being installed on com4,
when I have the intune connected and run dataview it just says scanning serial ports but never finds the itune.

I am able to copy logs from intune to my computer and then open them, export to .csv and play in excel.

Thanks for any help.

it doesn't.... it still doesn't work right...

just record the log using the intune itself, then copy the log file to your harddrive, and then open with dataviewer...

kwkride,

I was having the same issue on two different Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit machines. I got the program to work on mine by right clicking the executable and choosing "troubleshoot compatability" and it ended up allowing the program to run in Win XP mode. Might want to give that a try.
