Lew custom tune.....

Hey Lew. I think I'm just gonna shell out the dough for one of your custom tunes. It's really a kick ass deal judging by the good feedback you get. I do have a couple of questions before I buy:

I have installed the dialbo tune for my '13 Avalanche. Will I need to reflash the stock tuning before recording logs or can I just use the Diablo tune?

I just installed the Diablo tune today so I should wait 100 miles before logging to give the ECM time to learn the tune right?

I know that you do a great job and take your time to make it right but what is the usual turnaround time on a custom?

Thank you sir.

sounds good man, thank you!

my custom tuning is only $135... and the paypal Buy Now buttons can be found on my site at www.diablewtune.com

1 - no.. do not restore original backup.. keep the tune installed for logging.. since you're using the diablo tune, make sure you are using good 91 octane gas or higher... mobil, exxon, sunoco, amoco, bp, chevron tend to be the good brands... do not use Shell gas... also, if you have the Diablo Tune installed, your custom tune will also be made for 91+ octane gas, so you will need to always use at least 91 octane gas in your vehicle...

2 - after installing a tune, yes, you want to drive for a couple/few days until you get about 150 miles put on the tune so that the fuel trims have had enough mileage put on to be relearned by the ecm and have settled in...

3 - it varies... could be done within 2 steady driving logs and 2 WOT logs, or could go to 4 or 5 steady driving logs and a few WOT logs... the general process is:

you'd connect the tool back up to your computer... get copies of the original backup and last tune written files copied from the programmer to your PC, then you email me the tune files, with your vehicle info - year, model, engine, any mods done to it, etc... I create you a custom tune file and then email it back to you...

you import the custom tune file into the tool... then connect the tool to your vehicle and select the custom tune to install, then install the tune...

you drive however you normally do for a couple/few days until you've put on at least about 150 miles so that the fuel trims and such have been relearned by the ECM and have settled in.. then you are ready to record a steady driving data log for me...

you do that, then send me the log file... I make fine-tuning adjustments to the custom tune, and make you an updated custom tune file, send it to you, you import it to the tool, install to the vehicle, put on the miles, get me a new steady driving data log, send it to me to check, I make adjustments if needed, send you updated tune file, you import it to the tool, install to the vehicle etc etc... and once the part-throttle normal driving stuff is all dialed in and looks like it should, then we move on to the WOT fun! haha.. I have you do a WOT data log for me, I go through it, make any needed adjustments to WOT fueling/timing, send you an updated tune, you install it.. get me a new WOT data log to check, etc... once everything all looks good, you're good to go.

so that's the scoop...

Thanks man, I appreciate it!
