(Fixed)Solution for autostick troubles 2007 300C SRT8

But no paddle hold as yet. Sorry.
Anyway for all that have been having issues with the transmission settings on 8r17 here's the go.
As you know I have had many issues with mine such as:
- Gear notification on dash sometimes shows the next gear – for example if I am in 3rd 4th will show on the dash.
- Autostick disable does not work. When in manual mode it still changes up to the next gear exactly as it would in D.
- Autostick will kick down in manual mode. Definitely should not do this. This should only be available in D. For example, if I am in autostick/manual mode with 4th selected and bury my foot it will automatically kick down to 3rd or second (depending on speed). It will do the same when cruising too especially if going up a hill. As I said it’s now like a second D.
- When it kicks down to a lower gear (say 2nd as example) in manual mode, the gear it kicked down from (say 4th as example) still shows the same gear on the dash (now in 2nd gear but 4th showing - although once the kick down in manual/autostick is fixed this should disappear)
- No 5th gear showing when in manual mode. On the dash when changing from 4 to 5th it goes to D instead – Scenario = 1-2-3-4-D
- The car still feels a little sluggish from take off (hard) to around 2500-2800rpm. Still quick, and quicker than previous (stock), however it does not have the same punch nor does it seemed to have gained as much as it has anywhere after 2800. We had tried to data log a 1st gear run (actually all gears) on the dyno but couldn’t get accurate or consistent readings. Problem was the disable autostick function not working correctly as gear changes were all over the place. I will try doing something by streaming live data to a laptop (via Predator) and driving the street. I will get this done as soon as I can.
Well I can safely say that all of these issues are now sorted (except paddle/gear hold...come on Diablo
) and it was as easy as anything to do.
1. Hook up Predator to your car (assuming you have the performance tune already installed)
2. Choose Performance Tune then Quick Adjust
3. Choose Restore Quick Adjusts
4. Clear TCM Adaptives
5. Drive your car and ensure you have gear operation as you did when you first got the car (remember performance tune will still be installed).
6. Enter Quick Adjusts
7. Reset TCM adaptives again
8. Change tyre sizes as normal
9. Raise shift points (which will also raise rev limiter)
***DO NOT TOUCH DISABLE UPSHIFT***
Now go drive your car and it will now drive as it did except now you have:
- Gear display working well 1 2 3 4 5 D
- No Kick down in autostick/manual mode
- Once you have come to a stop, it will come back to first.
- Hell of a lot more responsive than before
- Drive(D) works as good as ever
- Wheels chirp into 2nd and 3rd now. Love it.
To get paddle hold I believe any earlier model TCM is required - An early 06 I believe. However my question to Diablo is that if this tune/function can mess up the transmission settings so much and basically reverse what we want (kick down in autostick instead of hold gear), why can't a program be written in reverse of that (does that make sense). Either way a lot happier with it now and can't believe how easy the fix was.
