OEM back up file question when switching tune

I have a dodge ram 1500 5.7l. I loaded the "diablo tune" to test it for a few days and then today I loaded the Mileage booster tune to see what kind of results I may get.

Question: When I plugged the tuner in after having a tune already loaded, I selected "write tune". From there I selected "mileage booster". It automatically created a back up file. Does this mean it overwrited the factory OEM file?

Do you need to always reload the OEM factory settings before switching from tune to tune? I have read of other people loosing the original factory settings file. When I saw it writing a back up file when making the switch from the Diablo to mileage booster I got concerned.

Its most likely writing a LastTuneWritten file
and not overwriting the OEM stock back-up tune.
You can get a copy of the OEM stock back-up tune
off the inTunes internal drive when connected to
the computer just to be safe than sorry...

The LastTuneWritten can also be renamed
as a custom tune if you changed any of the
adjustable settings for future reload.

Its always a good idea to back up your factory tune backup file just in case, that way you will always know that you have your factory backup file if you ever need it.

However, as the last poster said, when you write a new tune its your LWT file that's being written.

it only saves the stock file once, and stores it until you write it back to the vehicle, then it will read a new one next time you try to tune.
