2006 GXP Questions

I have read about many programmers, it is unfortunate that some give general information but nothing specific for certian cars. To avoid a huge disappointment I have some questions.
On a 06 GXP(which I plan to buy) will this tunner change my shift points and firmness? Will the pre programed tunes work on the ls4 gxp motor? Will this device improve my mpg? Thanks for the replies.
