07 Avalanche won't start after tune (not the battery)
07 Avalanche won't start after tune (not the battery)
Hi All, HELP!!!
I have a huge problem. I bought a new U7194 (v.8r06) today for my 07 Avalanche 6.0L (VIN's 8th digit is Y) . I removed the OnStar and Audio/Amp fuses as the pre-2007 model instructions said to do. The install seemed to go ok. I did the original backup, then did the 87 tune......
When it came time to start the truck. Just click click click from around the fuse box. When I plugged the unit back in, it does not read my vehicle anymore so I can't start it and I can't put it back to original.
I charged the battery to make sure it wasn't depleted and it still won't start.

RE: 07 Avalanche won
the only fuse you need to pull is the one for onstar...
right now, try disconnecting your negative battery cable... wait about 15 minutes and then re-connect it... then try starting your truck...

damn! may have fried the factory computer? i have read a few of these post, all about the 07 new body style with 6.0.
it seems the factory ecm's maybe junk? i read one post where a guy had this happen three times, and towed to the dealer and replaced the computer in vehicle three times.... i never read a solution to the problem though.
good luck fella, maybe gm will sort it out if it is a factory computer problem.

yep... could be facing a tow to the dealer...
however, first - call Mike from Diablosport here:
Mike Litsch
Diablosport inc.

mlitsch @ diablosport.com
he may be able to help you force the original tune back to the ECM and that may fix it...
if HE can't get it to work, then you're SOL and will have to get it back to the dealer to get a new replacement ECM...

Phil's a new guy... should'a asked to talk to Mike and try the force original backup first... cuz if that works, it saves ya a tow to the dealer and explaining things to them.... and if it doesn't work, then you still have to tow it there anyway, so nothing lost by trying the force backup first anyway...

I have a 2002 Silverado 6.0l and had the same problem you are having. Going through these forums, Is seems this is a very common problem. I installed this tuner in my truck at the Summit Racing parking lot. After not starting, I had to have it towed to the dealer. The tech could not communicate with the PCM and I had to buy a new one( $513.00). After the repair is when I emailed Diablosport. This is the information I received from the so-called expert Mike Litsch: ( There is a lisence agreement in the first page of your owners manual stating
that we are not responsible for anything that may happen as a result of
using our product.
I assumed we spoke on the phone, as anyone I speak to I do offer our
services to reflash the PCM, but I may not always get into that on the
forums.
Rather than look for reimbursement, why not send me the PCM so we can
reflash it and you can go back to the dealer with the PCM in working
condition and have them reimburse you for overcharging you for a part that
you did not need.
I am sorry that you were taken advantage of by the dealer, but it is out of
our hands.
For more info on our warranty please email [email protected])
After reading the complaints in these forums about the turnaround time on repaired PCMs from Diablosport, I had no choice but to go to the dealership.
Save yourself the headache, get your truck fixed, and please spread the word about this product. P.S. I showed all my emails to the manager at Summit Racing, and he said he is going to tell all his sales reps to stay away from this brand of tuner. Good luck!
