Calibration error, now stuck in recovery

Post by Sayte »

Hello, I recently received the Intune and was very excited to begin using the product. I followed the proper procedures of updating the device on my computer before taking it to the car. After fighting with the software I was eventually able to get the device up to date. I then plugged the intune into my car. It found the vehicle and then told me it needed a calibration update before proceeding. I took the intune back up to my computer where it said it successfully update the calibration. Brought it back down to the car and everything proceeded as normal. After installing the updated calibration it would immediately say that the calibration install had an error and the device would go into recovery mode. I tried again with the same results. I then brought the intune back to the computer to try to troubleshoot from this end. It is still stuck in recovery mode. If I push stay in recovery then it will just try to scan for a vehicle and not find one. If I push no to the "stay in recovery" then it will ask if I want to reset the Intune at which point it will give me "keys" to use to reset the Intune. None of these keys seemed to work as a password to reset the Intune, neither alone or all together.

Information:The car I am using the Intune on is a 2010 Dodge Charger SXT all stock besides a K&N Cold Air Intake and dual exhuast.

Sorry for the wall of text. I am truly excited to see the difference in the car after being able to tune it... I just wished everything would have worked normally the first go around. Thank you for your time and knowledge.

Damn, I guess I will have to use all the gas in the car first. I was able to fix the Intune by calling and having it reset. I then proceeded with the tuning process. The device downloaded the stock tune and asked me to select a tune from the list. I did not see the Octane I currently had in the car so backed out and it said I could unplug the device or press continue to get back to the main menu. I unplugged the device and then started the car. It started and then the rpm's fell and the engine turned off. I turned the key all the way off and took it out. Restarted the car again and it started and stayed on but with a check engine light. I scanned the code to find U0141 (Lost connection to front body module A). Any insight on the problem? I was going to try driving the car around for the day to see if the issue would fix itself, if not I was thinking of trying to unplug the battery for 10 minutes to reset the ECU. Thank you for your time.

I have a similar problem. I've been using the inTune for 6 months, no problems until the most recent update the last week.
Now the problem.......I have a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT. I restored the stock factory tune. I updated the Diablo inTune with latest updates.
Then I tried to install the "91 Octane" tune performance tune. Before completing the performance tune...it gave me an error on install, must go recovery mode. I accepted the recover mode option, it reinstalled my stock factory tune.

I have repeated this cycle 3 times same results.
--->stock tune copied to inTune
--->select 91 Octane tune
---->91 Oct tune fails on install
---->recover mode, successfully re-installs factory tune

Hey there, not sure if you are still having this problem or not. As Mikel said, call the Diablosport helpline number with the device powered up. They will guide you through the steps to reset the Intune which will then completely fix the issue. Best of luck.

As for an update on my check engine light... it is now only on when then key is turned on but the car is not started. When I start the car it goes away. So.... oh well I guess :P (I'm positive it is not a test light because all the other test lights go out after a few seconds) The tune definitely woke up the car. It feels great.

the CEL is supposed to be on when the key is on/engine off.

Similar problem with NO help...
After reaching 99% of calibration, it asks me to cycle the key off, key on, then I get
an error msg that an error occured during calibration and it wants to know if I want
to enter recovery mode and continue yes or no. Continuing just recycles back through
to the error again, when pushing no, the unit just shuts down....

This is for a custom tune from Ripp Superchargers I am trying to load.... :blowup:

I wait hours and hours on the help line, what good is it to call?

A reset of the Intune will 100% fix the problem.... that is rather frustrating about the wait times on the phone though. When I called it probably took about 5-10 minutes until I was talking to somebody.

The truly annoying part about all of this is that the Intune gives the option to reset it yourself. The only issue is that it provides a set of numbers as a password for the reset that need to be ran through some sort of decoder that only the person on the helpline has...

Yeah, I called and they sent an eMail....well, it still doesn't work and my irritation level is going up by the day! Will get on phone again tomorrow and see what happens, so far I am less that satisfied...if this continues, they get a slam from me on Jeep Forum... :blowup:

I did as Mikel the moderator instructed...... auto update want working right.... so I "dragged and dropped" the newest update file to the"in tune"folder on the handheld. See rest of post above for instructions.
