Is it possible (and safe for the handheld) to go back to previous releases?
I was extremely happy with r16a, but I got curious about the Live Data logging one day and updated to r17. Now the power output to the rear wheels is noticeably less (can't do a burnout at will anymore for example [with or w/o ESP]) and my transmission gets confused sometimes and downshifts too low. That being said, it is still better than stock, so I'm certain that the tune was indeed applied. Not to mention the fact that I've done it about 3 few times already to make sure. :>
For a little background, before updating to r17 I went back to stock tune and unplugged the neg cable for a long time. I wouldn't believe this to have much to do the power decrease, but I did read that some were having tranny problems and this did resolve their issues. The issues were mostly related to shift points and rev limits, and whether they could go into 5th in autostick rather than jumping to D after 4th. It wasn't really important to me, but I did notice that I can now go into 5th also, whereas before I could not with r16a.
I might apply this question in a generic sense and ask if there are compatibility issues bouncing backward/forward in releases at all? I would assume the DSDownloader version might play a role here.
Also, while I'm asking questions, or making suggestions in this case, it would be really nice to have more detailed information about what changes from release to release. The description on the download page is rather brief and based on high-level features. Some folks would really like to see timing and fuel mixture tweaks, at least on the more aggressive perf tunes.
To close on a good note, I will say that this product is more than worth the $$ in my opinion. I tried 3 different competitor products before the Predator launched and the Predator smokes them all by a long shot. GREAT JOB!

RE: Going back to a previous release
On this application it is OK for now to go back to an older rev.
The next rev should have any and all issues cleared up.
Thanks

RE: Going back to a previous release
Thanks for the quick reply Mike!
Can you say what the estimated release date might be for the next revision? A few weeks, or maybe a few days?
