Owned a I-1000DCX for 2hours & will return it!!!

Just received my new I-1000 DCX & will be sending it back ASAP!!!!!

Right out the box it will not install a driver for updates, make a call to DiabloSport & while on hold for almost an hour I decide to go to the website & I find this forum.

Start reading the threads & everyone is having issues with this product so I will not be using it on my 2012 Challenger R/T nor my 2013 Ram R/T.

Seems from reading here this product needs tons more development before its ready for my new vehicles.

Not to mention the hour on hold with DiabloSport for nothing.

I believe my user name says the rest.

sorry to hear that, the driver issue is a very simple fix, all you have to do is open the diablosport cd rom drive and right click the intune file and select run as administrator.

Thanks

Wish I had that hour I wasted on hold back for something that's "a simple fix".

What if it had been on the weekend & my car wasn't running?

It also doesn't help that I own a 2013 Ram R/T.

The box says 2011+ where it should say 2011-2012 only.

I have a 2012 Challenger R/T but will I need to buy another tuner for my '13 Ram R/T when tuning for it gets released, no thanks.

Gonna wait a bit longer & go with another brand.

Just keep in mind that if you go with another brand, you're stuck with their canned tunes. No tweaking for your vehicles, no custom tuning, so if you do anything more than an intake and catback exhaust, you're SOL. Besides that, even the tunes that you install on a stock vehicle wouldn't be optimized. Thats why DiabloSport allows the end user to make changes to the tunes, because each individual vehicle is different, and so is each tune.

I don't even know why the other brands continue to make tuners. Next to DiabloSport they look pathetic, like incompetent amateurs.

Pretty sure I heard that there was a company or 2 who was going to release one. Not that its gonna matter. Both that I've heard about (BD and SC) have histories of awful tunes and minimal available options, so they're nothing to worry about. Right now the biggest threat comes from the flashed PCMs, and those suck because you're fucked if the dealer updates the computer. Some people may see those as a viable option. I never have.

Sc is way late to the party, kinda surprised they dont have anything yet, but I am not complaining.

BD seems focused on trucks/Jeeps, seems odd that they dont have a car tool either, but like you said, man, you dont want them tuning your HEMI ;)

I'm just looking to share some info here...

There is nothing about the driver that would have lead to the car not running.
If the car not running is a concern, my suggestion would be to only load tunes during our business hours.
I am not aware of any tuner company that offers weekend phone support.
Any tuner you buy will work for one vehicle at a time, there is no tool that will allow you to tune both vehicles with the same device, at the same time.

We are the leader in HEMI tuning, there is no question about that.
I am sorry that your initial experience did not go well, but I would urge you to give us a chance to help you out and enjoy the product that we have designed for you to make your HEMIs run the way you feel they should ;)

I tried calling when the on-line chat said offline & had no results.

The primary reason for my purchase was to tune my 2013 Ram R/T, so no matter what driver fix is available it will not help.....yet.

The 2012 Challenger R/T is my wifes car so you do the math on me tuning & beating on her car..... That's not gonna happen my friend.

Need to tune my truck & I will wait for Diablo to release a tune for my '13 Ram on the off chance that it requires a different handheld tuner.

I purchased this product by seeing the package that says 2011+ Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep & Ram tuning. I figured that my 2013 Ram fell into that description.

The box should clearly state that it only tunes 2011-2012 vehicles.

This is the reason I am unhappy.

it doesnt work for the 6 spd wrangler either. in order for it to work i have to send them the installed tune that doesnt work so they can change something. problem is i work during their business hours. the aslo are supposedly working on a fix that was supposed to be out in a week five weeks ago and when you ask about the update the ignore the question. thats poor customer service.

I have posted the update for that fix for over a week now, it is available if you need it.

So what your saying is I can update the intune and not have to worry about having to send you an image of my ECm so you can change something. I will work as advertised? Also why not post it in the thread for the wrangler? I can't wait to use my really expensive paper weight.

:punisher: NOT TRUE! My previous Hypertech had similar capabilities as my new I-DCX-1000. Unfortunately, doesn't appear Hypertech has yet broken the encryption on the latest Chrysler products.
