Installing Diablo ECM but leaving TCM as modify stock?
SO im a bit confused about how this works, maybe one of you guys can clear it up for me. This is on a 2009 Silverado with 5.3L, after installng the diablo ECM tune it goes on to install the TCM giving me the option of firm shift, hard shift or modify stock. When I pick modify stock it says that 'modify stock' allows me to change parameters without adding power or torque. This is the part Im confused about....by picking modify stock TCM am I still getting the added HP and torque of the diablo ECM tune?
Re: Installing Diablo ECM but leaving TCM as modify stock?
yes... if you selected one of the ecm tunes to install, and then you just choose to select the tcm modify stock (why?), then it would still install the diablosport ecm performance tune that you selected (unless you chose mpg booster tune, which is not a performance tune), and then it would just keep your stock tcm programming/tune....

to answer your question as to why I left the tcm modify stock is because I really don't like the feeling of hard shifts (this is my daily driver). Am I really losing anything by doing so besides the 'feel' of a hard shift?06MonteSS wrote:yes... if you selected one of the ecm tunes to install, and then you just choose to select the tcm modify stock (why?), then it would still install the diablosport ecm performance tune that you selected (unless you chose mpg booster tune, which is not a performance tune), and then it would just keep your stock tcm programming/tune....
