What is the minimum battery voltage necessary to install a tune and can I tune my vehicle wile its connected to a battery charger? My dealer and I are having a discussion about whether a battery that only puts out 11 volts should be replaced under warranty. (I have a Trinity)

I believe the threshold is 10.5 V for Trinity.

IMO, thats not too low for a healthy battery.

I think thats too low definitely. I hook up a voltmeter to the Yukons battery and it shows 12.1V, not running, overnight. Thats about where it should be, since it should theoretically take 12V to start the motor (though I've seen them start with 10V).

if we set it to 12V, 9 out of 10 vehicles would say the voltage is too low to flash....

Maybe, but I'm talking about his discussion with the dealer. An 11V battery should definitely be replaced IMO.

You've got it right. Their service adviser seems to think that "as long as the car starts, the battery is OK." "She" doesn't even consider (or maybe doesn't know) that low voltage causes an excessive strain on the starter. I can't use my Trinity to program my truck so I suspect the actual voltage may be even lower. (the cheap ass meter I carry in my truck doesn't display any fractional voltage when checking DC volts.) I'll check it with my good meter and proceed as the following icons suggest. Thanks for the onfo.

Second part of the question. Since I want to return to stock, can I hook up a battery charger to change the tune? I really don't think I should take my truck in with a Diablo tune installed. Also is there a 91 octane tune available for my Colorado (5.3)? I didn't see it in the menu.
