U7194 won't do real-time data

I have a 2007 GMC Sierra Denali and I'm using the U7194 Predator. My first issue is that I can't get more than about 90 seconds or so of data logging with 'just' the Predator. That wouldn't bother me so much, if I could get the real-time data capture working w/ my laptop and the Data Viewer. But, I can't get that to work right either...

My laptop doesn't have an old-style Serial Port. So, I went out and bought a Serial-To-USB cable and installed the drivers. The Data Viewer will talk to / see the Predator for retrieving data logs, updating the Predator's software, etc. But, for some reason the "real time" option is greyed-out in the Data Viewer's menu and the little lightning bolt is greyed-out in the toolbar. I can even get it to the point to where the Predator says it is being remote controlled and the Data Viewer says it is acquiring vehicle information. But, I can't seem to get it to "do" anything more than that...

I think I've followed the steps I've seen and I can get the laptop and Predator talking to one another, but I must be leaving something out... Any ideas, anyone...?

Thanks in advance!
Michael

I am moving this to the Dataviewer section of the forum....John C will be able to help you out there.

Thanks

Thanks! Sorry about posting in the wrong area. I didn't see the separate area for the Data Viewer.

Please disregard. After reading through this forum some, I upgraded to DataViewer v3.1.5.3. That didn't seem to help. So, even though R7 for U7194 didn't list any features for my truck, I updated my Predator to R7. That seemed to fix it.

So, all is well, now! Thanks!
