intune I1000 not helping my 06 dodge ram 4.7
I got my intune I1000 recently and have some issues first im only offered a 87 octane tune and a DIABLO TUNE ( both do nothing for performance at all) Why isn't the 91 and the 93 octane tune available? I was thinking about adjusting the spark and gas parameters to see if that helps but not sure of what kind of adjustment I should make. Can you offer any advice? The engine is stock except for a complete Gibson header exhaust system and 392 gears. Thanks Nick

the diablo tune is for a min of 91, there were no power differences for 91, so no need for a specific 91 tune. best bet would be to add some throttle boost.
Thanks

Diablo tune is for 91 octane gas or better. Second, you may not feel much. The 4.7 is grossly outmatched in the heavy Ram, and another 10-15hp isn't gonna make that much of a difference when you're pulling a 6,000lb truck. Don't know why they even offered that motor in the Ram. When the Hemi came out the 4.7 should have been killed.

my truck is a short bed reg. cab weighing 4700 pounds not 6000 When I researched the Itune 1000 on your company web it showed a dyno graph showing a 20 HP increase over stock but you say ill get only 10 to 15 tops with all that being said im very disappointed and would like to know if I can get a refund I bought this from summit racing thanks Nick

No need to return it, spend some time with it, the 20 rwhp gains are legit and happened in front of me on our dyno....
Thanks

Re: intune I1000 not helping my 06 dodge ram 4.7
ok ill spend some time with it as you sugest but you already told me no need to adjust fuel or spark parameters and ive tried the diablo and 87 octane tune so whats next????? thanks Nick
Re: intune I1000 not helping my 06 dodge ram 4.7
Well what octane fuel are you using 'cause if you're running the Diablo tune with 87 octane you're probably getting so much knock it's just pulling your timing back. Need 91 octane or better if you want to see a performance increase.
And don't pay any attention to Levy, he's just agitated 'cause DS doesn't have a tuner for his BMW.

im using 93 octane , no knock what so ever. What else can I try? thanks Nick

Then you should notice some difference. You might try the throttle booster, it will make the throttle more sensitive.

I don't have throttle by wire, so theres no throttle booster

Re: intune I1000 not helping my 06 dodge ram 4.7
If you want to feel the increase you need to spend some more $$$$$ for bolt on etc. I did long tube headers, offroad Y pipe 3" into an 18" maggy with turn downs. I have a cold air induction system, 87 mm Ported throttle body and a power wire from aem. The Diablo tune will due you good. But stock with just exhaust system will not feel much different on the street, However you would see it on the dyno. I have a 2006 dodge ram 1500 quadcab, much heavier than your truck but man o man the difference it makes when you set your engine up right. Remeber it has to be able to breath, if you go with a more open exhaust you need to be able to force more air in. Usually guys put CAI and no exhaust, i must say you are the few ones I have seen go the other way. I will get my truck custom tuned when i Install my new cam, torq convertor in the next couple of weeks. Good luck with your mods
