Octane booster

I want to try the Diablo tune, however I'm wondering if it's OK to use an octane booster rather than wait until I'm ready for fill up as I usually run 87 octane? If so, which brand is recommended? Thanks.

octane booster won't boost you high enough to make 87 octane into 91/93 octane, heh... it would make you about 87.5 - 88 octane....

That depends what booster. NOS Race Formula is supposed to be good for 7 full points. I wouldn't go that far, but I'd say its good for around 1.8-2.0 RON points.

NF Racing Formula, and Nulon Pro Strength, have been proven to add 2.8 points RON. Good luck finding them though. Both are Aussie products and are nearly impossible to find outside of Australia.

Something you can find in the US, and in a 5:1 (20%) ratio increases octane by 2.5 points is Toluene. You can go as far as 10:3 (30%) for bigger gains, but don't go any further than that! Can normally get it in paint stores or service stations might be able to special order it (good luck with that).

99.9% of the other off the shelf boosters are garbage. Anything that claims to have cleaners or lubricants, you want nothing to do with.
