Shift firmness question...

I've raised the shift firmness on my 2009 Challenger R/T with my diablo. What exactly does that do and is it safe for daily driving? The car only goes to cruise nights, car shows, and the drag strip. I put about 3500 miles on it a year. Car runs 12.5 at 107 but it seems to shift a bit lazy at the track. I'm hoping this will fix that and maybe I'll hit a 12.4. All motor. Thanks.

it allows the trans to shift quicker/firmer, no ill effects of doing this :)

So is this like the "reduce torque management" from an early version?
