2014 silverado Tune problems
2014 silverado Tune problems
2014 Silverado, 5.3 6-speed auto
T-1000 updated exc.
Been running th MPG BOOSTER as my daily driver tune, and then on weekends i run the 87 performance tune.
Problem i am having is every time i install the 87 tune, i get code P16F3 - Control Module Redundant Memory Performance.
Its not after driving for a while, it comes on almost instant, and i can clear it while driving, couple miles later, its back on again.
Is this a Hiccup in the new files for these trucks? or is it a ECU problem with my truck?
Thanks
Andrew

Re: 2014 silverado Tune problems
I have not seen this on our 2014 silverado, but you may likely have more miles on yous than we do.
Load the tunes then post copies for the files from the tunes folder here so we can check it out please.

Re: 2014 silverado Tune problems
It's done it since it had 100 miles on it, and it's currently had 440 miles. I un-installed the tunes (back to stock file) and programmer, rest it, and reinstalled it and installed the 87 tune with hard shift file and made some minor adjustments, shift pressure, DOD off, torqe management off exc. when I got to work this morning. See if I get a code again when I leave work today and I'll report back.mikel wrote:I have not seen this on our 2014 silverado, but you may likely have more miles on yous than we do.

If code does come up again, I'll have to figure out how to send you the tunes files.
Thanks

Okay,mikel wrote:OK, let me know.
I have tried everything. And I think I figured out what it is doing. When I set the 87 tune or modified stock tune, I always set the DOD to" off" in the settings. I finally caught it do something and it sets the light off. I see the thing on the dash that says "v8" showing what mode the truck is in, and I see it flash over for a split second to "v4" and then instantly wiitchs right back to v8 and the trips the code I posted in the original post and sets the light. Reason why it doesn't do it in the "mpg boost" tune is cause I dnt have the DOD set to off. I honestly have to got some so frustrated trying to trouble shot this all day, trying different tunes and different set-ups that I have just put the stock back up back in, and just use it for monitoring the truck while I drive.
The last thing that I am going to try is resting the tool again and try updating it again on the PC. Other than that, I might wait for a new update that comes out that might fix the bugs. I understand this is new software and truck, so I know there going to be bugs. I get that, so any help that you can provide will be greatly apperciated.
Thanks

OK, it sounds like its related to the DOD disable, I'll play with this on our truck for a while, but for now, just dont turn it off, and you should be fine.
Thanks

Re: 2014 silverado Tune problems
OK, we reproduced this on our truck, i guess we hadn't done enough highway driving to get it to try to go into V4 while DOD was disabled, should be a simple fix, will set you up with a custom tune to resolve it as soon as we have the fix
Thanks

Awesome! Glad i was able to help out before others had same issue. Please let me know what you need for me, and when you have the new file ready, I am more than happy to do some testing for you guys! Thanks a lot for your help!
In the mean time I'll try the 87 file with DOD NOT turned off and see if I have any issues.
Also, other than setting the trans file to HARD and bumping up shift pressure at part throttle and WOT, is there any way to get former shifts? I feel a little difference, but not a whole lot. I am sure this isn't a tune issue, I might just be use to the built trans with shift kit and all that, that's was in my 04.
Thanks

if you add a bunch of pressure and still think you want more, post up the TCM backup and last tune written files.

Re: 2014 silverado Tune problems
The tuner looking into this has been swamped with some of the 2013 Chrysler stuff we are pushing out the door this week, he's going to put some time into this as soon as he gets past this project, should be soon
I'll have a custom tune for you to try soon, post your backup file and last tune written here when you get a sec so we can set you up.
Thanks

Ok. Sounds good!
Can you post a link, or tell me how to post those files please?
You need the factory back up correct?
Thanks
