Re: 2012 honda civic r18
May I ask why? You won't even concider it if there is a bunch of people asking for it?
Re: 2012 honda civic r18
Because DiabloSport only works on vehicles where they can show substantial gains to justify the cost. Can't do that with a N/A 4 cylinder. They make no power.

and there is not enough of a market/interest for it to justify the cost either...

hang on there....civic might be one of the largest markets in the world...but, its not the direction we have been looking for sure.06MonteSS wrote:and there is not enough of a market/interest for it to justify the cost either...
Never know though, if something were to fall into our lap it might make sense to do something here.

I would buy a tuning product from these guys for my 9th gen Civic 1.8.I owned a 8th gen Civic 1.8 with moderate bolt ons and had it tuned with the Hondata flash pro.Since thats no longer available what do ya say?Look at all the potential.

Alright. How many definite buyers you need to get your attention? We got so many people traded there r18 civic for an Si just because there is no tuning solution.
Re: 2012 honda civic r18
Its not the number of buyers. Like I said earlier, there are no gains without forced induction on a 4 cylinder. Its not worth DiabloSport hurting their rep by putting out a 5hp tune. Why waste time and resources on that when they could be working on a force fed motor that can put out 5 to 10 times that, or even a force fed V8 that will make 20 times that? Numbers bring in buyers when it comes to performance. The Civic is an economy car. It has zero performance aspirations. Economy gains would probably mean more to most Civic owners than horsepower gains.

Re: 2012 honda civic r18
With just only the intake then a agree. With many bolted-on parts, that is completely different story. We already have turbo and supercharger kits that will fit r18 9th gen civic. All we need is tuning solution.Mike_Levy wrote:Its not the number of buyers. Like I said earlier, there are no gains without forced induction on a 4 cylinder. Another 2013 r18 owner, I'd love to see a tuner in the near future.
I've spent too much already to see them go to waste lol.

Re: 2012 honda civic r18
Thanks Mike for chiming in.I agree with your logic on NA cars and gains. If you did in the future develop a tuning program I then could mod my car with a Jackson Racing SC.
Re: 2012 honda civic r18
Can you please elaborate a bit more on this Mike??Mike_Levy wrote:Its not the number of buyers. Like I said earlier, there are no gains without forced induction on a 4 cylinder. I guess my question is, Why would it only make a 5 to 10 HP gain?
As stated already, We have a turbo setup for the 1.8 R18, as well as a supercharger made by JacksonRacing that is ready to go on our engine right now.
I myself do not want to go forced induction, A cai ,exhaust , Throttle body with a tuner is what i want to run.
