Successful 2013 installs please chime in!

Post by iRace559 »

UPS dropped off my Trinity today and I'll be attempting to update and install it on my 2013 SRT-8 Charger. So far all I see is horror stories of erased stock tunes and cars that wont start. It's a shame the community has waited this long for 2013 support only to have these issues.

I just want everyone to chime in that has successfully installed their 2013 tunes, and if there were any hiccups in the process. Don't want to leave myself without a car.

Let me know!

Thanks,

Chris

I would suggest tuning during normal business hours, just in case something happens. Then they can get you up and running with just a phone call.

Unfortunately I work in NYC and commute back home to NJ. I don't get back until they close.

update you're trinity to the latest version, once you're up to date, select update tool once more and load the attached file to the trinty. You'll be all up to date on our latest file and should be fine to tune.

Stupid question. Is that file intended for srt8 only or all 2013 chargers?

I updated my A5 R/T Challenger (5.7) with the new file above (93 octane). Doing so shaved 2 10ths off my 0-60 time, throttle response is much crisper through the entire range, MDS is finally OFF and I can roast the wheels through a couple of gears if I turn off all the traction control with the tuner. Needless to say, I'm very happy!

I just re-loaded the stock tune so I can get a baseline dyno run in tomorrow morning, then I'm going to load up the tune and see what kind of gains are really there. I'll post results after.

Thank you DS!

So I took garrets advise and updating using the attached file. I got scared at first as it took two tries to back up my stock file. I can definitely tell the increased throttle response and power throughout the range. Its not a night and day difference but its definitely noticeable. I'm going to try and reset the tcm adaptations and set the throttle boost up to see how that fares.

I have a question about the option on the Trinity to increase shift firmness. Obviously on the SRT-8 Model you have track mode which gives you increase shift firmness while holding the gear past redline.

If I choose to increase the shift firmness, what real effect will it have in standard mode and track mode?

2013 Charger RT 5.7 Unsuccessful -- looked like it downloaded the stock tune after a few tries. Errored, stated not for my vehicle. Could not rewrite stock tune. Car wont start and it's Saturday. Car says push clutch to start, it's automatic. Pissed!
