U7170 for EEC Ready won't load into tool

I'm trying to load the U7170 9r05 for EEC ready into a U7000 for a customer, it gets about 3/4 done and then the Predator screen displays something like "unable to load crom img". I've done this plenty of times with U7000's, U8000's, and U9000's but never done a U7170 before. I'm guessing that maybe my U7000 is not new enough to have the space to fit the U7170 file on it. If that's the issue, is there an older U7170 for EEC ready file available that I can try? Thank you

There was nothing on it, it was a blank U7000. I'm not around it right now, but I believe the serial number is somewhere around 170xxx. I just sold a couple of other ones that I turned in to a U7146 and a U7158 without any problems.

Well that was certainly a good try but it ended with the same result. It gets to writing packet 8195 of 14316 and then stops and the predator displays "Unable to store CROM image". I noticed that all the U7170 files are pretty huge. I found a U7000_ford_7_3_7r19cz crom file that's only 919kb. But when I tried to send that one I think I got an error like "cannot load U7000 crom on to eec ready tool". Is there by chance a 7r19 crom for eec ready?

well. Not sure what to do here.

I think you should send that tool in and let us try to convert it here for you.

Well, I really didn't feel like sending it so I just figured I was SOL on turning this one into a U7170 and figured it just wouldn't work because the crom file is so large. This week I tried sending the U7158 crom to it and it instantly errors out saying that it is unable to store the crom image. Just curious, when I let it boot up it displays "this is a tuner series tool. Please load a tuner series crom file." Is that normal for it to say that it's a tuner series tool? Should it say that it's an eec ready tool or something like that? If so, I guess I'm kind of running out of options and will need to send it in, how do I go about doing that?
