U7142 "this tool is not licensed for use with this vehicle"

I have a 04 cobra and recieved a U7142 tuner from a friend as he doesn't have the car anymore, when I go to download a tune to the vehicle I get the message "this tool is not licensed for use with this vehicle". I have had a U7142 my self on my previous cobra and used it on another vehicle so Im not sure if its a software error or are there different versions that can only support one VIN number any help would be appreciated. I Dont have current access while i am writing this to find the software level of the hand held at this time but can get it if you believe it to be of concern.

Please fill out the form on the attached link to have the tool Reset. The predator your friend gave you is still married to his vehicle, and needs to be reset before you can use it again.
