Dash lights not turning off?
Well damn, my first (and hopefully only) issue. So. I was wandering down my driveway and noticed that the backlights are still on behind the speedo/tach etc. The needles keep twitching as well. I assume this has been happening since I did the tune yesterday. I'm surprised my battery didn't die. Anyone have a clue what is causing this? Perf 91 tune, and it's left plugged into the OBD port.

Re: Dash lights not turning off?
Update: Unplugging the Trinity and then two lock/unlock cycles cleared that issue. I'd rather leave it plugged in, so if anyone has any insight.. that'd be awesome.

Re: Dash lights not turning off?
And another update: I saw on another post about a Dodge Challenger having the same issue, and DB suggested upping the sleep timeout to 60 seconds on the Trinity. I tried that, as well as 45 and 30 seconds.. Same issue persists.

does the tool go to sleep?
Maybe try opening the door to shut the dash down?
Maybe try opening the door to shut the dash down?

Re: Dash lights not turning off?
Hey Mike, thanks for the reply. The device is presently set to go to sleep at 60 seconds. The car turns off as one would expect until the trinity goes to sleep, at which time the dash lights back up. It will turn off and back on in seemingly 30 second cycles. Opening and closing the door and Locking and unlocking had no change. Very strange stuff.mikel wrote:does the tool go to sleep?

Re: Dash lights not turning off?
Mike, I have a meaningful update for you. I found on another site that people were having that problem on 2012 and 2013 Chargers and challengers if they left the Trinity with the gauges up when it went to sleep. They would back out to the "home" screen before exiting the vehicle and that resolved their issue. I went ahead and tried it... and it worked like a charm. I rolled back the sleep time to 10 seconds, and it still continued to operate properly so long as I back out to the home screen. It would seem to me that the mechanism the Trinity uses to poll for information from the ECU is somehow waking the car up. I haven't seen anyone else on this forum complain of that issue, so I am not sure if some cars (like mine) are one-offs. Any kind of workaround you are aware of?mikel wrote:does the tool go to sleep?

Exactly same here on mine. Exit out of gauges and the tool seems to sleep without keeping the dash from keep lighting up.
