I have a u7142 tuner and used it on my 2003 cobra, I took my car in at ford to get something done to it, but they updated the computer on it and now my predator won't want to rewrite the tune back on my car

you can't... the tool will have to be reset/unlocked, and it requires a call to tech support.. plus you will have to show/fax proof that the dealer reflashed your pcm, otherwise it will cost you some $$....

Really? Even if the tuner is currently married to my car?

Thats correct. When the vehicle is updated the vin will stay the same but the software of your vehicle the tool was married to is not the same and cannot "Force" another softwares backup onto it. Please call us after sending in a copy of your receipt and we will reset that device for you. Thanks.

Okay then, So do I need to give you a copy of my original purchase receipt, I do not know where it is

, or can I somehow show proof that ford did the computer update/flash? Am I stuck having to pay the $99 to reset it?

as I mentioned in my post above.. you will have to fax a copy of your service report showing that your dealer reflashed the pcm... and then no, you won't have to pay to have the tool reset/unlocked....
