Trinity help I'm in deep !

Post by SRT392 »

Hello I’m new to the trinity I used it for awhile on my SRT 392 and ended up choosing a modified stock tune. After using it for awhile I thought It would be a good idea to check for updates.

So I (thought) I re-installed the stock tune in the car than plugged the Trinity into my PC the updater than gave me a message saying I don’t have the original tune re-installed in the vehicle.

I clicked thru a few windows and eventually to the force an update window once I clicked on that I got this code AC3E D7BA 4287 316B 4187 and it advised to contact a tech for a password. ( I did e-mail Jon )

So I went thru a the trinity a bit more (inc the demo) than thought to check back in the car to see if the stock tune wasn't installed.

When I did I got this message :

This tool was used to flash a "Trinity Demo CROM" with 87 octane performance. The original backup must be restored to that vehicle before tuning another vehicle is possible.

When I pushed continue i got this message: Last vehicle VIN Diablo Sport Demo.

How can I back my way out of this gentleman or can I?
:drivingbad:

Thanks !

sounds like you never tuned you car if its been in demo....

go to performance, select original backup, then go to options/change vehicle type and select your vehicle, then you can update or tune the car.

Hi Mikel
I've had tunes installed in the car I know that for sure as I've noted the fan speed changes with the 93 performance tune installed plus my VIN shows up in the tool.

I tried what you said and got the same message:This tool was used to flash a "Trinity Demo CROM" with 87 octane performance. The original backup must be restored to that vehicle before tuning another vehicle is possible.

Another odd thing is that even though the VIN is showing in the tool, I got a message that the tool cannot read the VIN and it asked me to turn on the vehicle, The vehicle was all ready on though when it asked me that.

Is there a master reset for everything or what should I try next?

Thanks Curtis

if the tool is married in demo mode, try the following

1. Power up the tool and select Options  Change Vehicle Type, and put it into Demo mode again. Let it reset itself and go back to the main menu.
2. In demo mode, go under the Performance menu, and select ‘Original Backup’ as the tune to install. The tool will go through the process of “installing” a stock tune, and reset itself as if it’s connected to a car.
3. Once it notifies you that the original backup has been installed, reboot the tool to put it on the main menu, and open DS Downloader program.
4. Once it connects to the unmarried Trinity, the DS Downloader will now be able to update the tool fully to the latest revision, and should do so automatically.
5. Once the update process is completed, the Trinity will display the main menu again. Select Options  Change Vehicle Type again, and enter your vehicle’s information. That will activate the appropriate firmware file for your vehicle, and you can then bring it to the vehicle.

Thanks Garrett
I will try what you advised, one thing I didn't mention is I've had it in the Demo mode and when I attempted to run it that way the "loading" window opened on the tuner and it stayed there for along time.

I eventually unplugged it rebooted but continued to get the messages I've posted about does this tell you anything.

How long should I leave it when the "loading" window opens when I talk about a long time it's many minutes.

Garrett,

It didn't work, I got as far as selecting demo mode once I did that the "loading" screen opened and stayed there,it's been on that screen over 20 min's.

I even tried it with the Ignition on prior to being prompted and it was the same result.

What do I do now?

Thx Curtis

I followed your instructions.
Powered up the tool, re-selected the vehicle type, selected "Demo mode" and that's where it ended the loading screen came on and stayed there.

I hope this is the tool info you want.

Serial:6O9QBFB-3
My part# is: dcx_gas
Version: v.1r10

The problem :
Turned out to be the drivers in my lap top for the down loader stopped working. Tech support was able to work thru to that and provide some extra user tips, it certainly was a simple but odd thing I'm glad it's resolved.

Thanks Tech Support.
