If the tool says "preparing" when connecting it to your PC, then it is trying to update itself. Once the "Preparing" process begins, be sure to leave it plugged in until it goes through "preparing", "writing" and "verifying" and boots back up in recovery mode. At that point, plug the Intune back into the vehicle and let it restore to the vehicle. Then you can proceed with tuning.
No, i don't work here.

I'm sitting here with the intune usb-attached to my PC, watching the spinning icon, and the intune is no longer visible as a USB device. Is it doing intune-internal stuff, and will pop back up when it's done?

I am in the same boat! Just had heads and cam put into my 2012 dodge Challenger R/T. I know the intune updated itself when I plugged it into the computer. But every time the shop tried to load the tune or w.e they are doing, it keeps trying to go into recovery mode? any fix for this so i can tell them and finally get my car back lol.

I have the same problem. I can not restore my backup tune, it gets to tire size and keeps failing at that point. So I tried the 91 octane tune and that failed. I have a 2011 jeep wrangler. I was never able to change the tire size cause it always failed. If I go to the vehicle info the LTW says original backup. ( but when I restored the original backup it said "unable to resolve tune for LTW ( original backup ) ) so is it back to original or not? if so can I just delete vehicle and start over or how can I wipe out the tuner to original like I received it? Also why cant I change my gear ratio? I don't even have it as an option. Ive seen it on you tube under transmission, I don't even have a transmission option on my device and my version on my device is 1R03Q.

I am having the same problem. Mine said that a pcm calibration was required and to reconnect with a computer. Did that then hooked it back up to my truck and it said that it was updating the calibration the had me cycle the ignition multiple times before telling me that there was an issue and saying that it was in recovery mode. went through the process multiple times just to try the pcm calibration but this was never achieved although it did turn on most of the lights on my dash.... then once i unplugged it my service engine light is on and my MDS system is not coming on.... 2011 ram 1500 5.7L hemi.

Please help me!!!!!!
