I've had my U7198 for years that I run on my '01 2500 HD 8.1L
I just recently bought a U7194 for my '11 5.3L 1500
I bought the PC Interface kit (U7778) with the U7194
Can I use the interface kit on the older U7198?
If so, do I need to restore the factory tune before doing any downloads to the U7198?

I know the 7194 is obsolete but Summit had a really good close out price.

Yes, the updates cables work with any Predator.

if you want to update the U7198, yes, you must restore the stock tune before loading the update.

I'm gonna take a wild guess that you're gonna tell me that GM02 Predator 2.11
is ollllld and can't be updated from the 'net

that is correct... that is a very old tool.. and can not do internet updates...

you'd need to send it in to diablosport for the $99 upgrade... or, trade it in for a $100 credit towards the purchase of a new intune or trinity, since the predators are all dead and gone now anyway, they were all discontinued about 2 years ago...
