I haven't had to post here in years, that's a good thing.

Here's the deal, my truck is stock except for the CAI and my slopes have always been about -5 to -6 in the summer (NC summer) and around -8 in the winter using the 87 Oct tune. I might add I didn't see any difference with the slopes when I added the CAI but it may have slipped by me. I have 47K miles on it and recently the transmission came out which was due to a POS part, now it has been rebuilt (bummer). About half of this mileage is towing a 3000lb pop-up.

I replaced the 87 oct tune with the HP factory tune as I didn't want anything influencing the trans shifting because the trans now has a mild shift kit and shifts fine. I then ran a long log which indicates that I need to set my slopes -14 to -15 which is a little much, don't you think? I forgot to drive my truck for 100 miles after changing tunes so if you add another -6 or so it's even worse.

Today I'm going to check for air leaks and clean my MAF sensor but I think if all is well I may need a custom tune. I don't race or have my foot in this truck, I just drive it and tow to the NC mountains. I just need the engine getting all it needs without influencing the transmission shifting now.

Well here is an update.

I just cleaned the MAF sensor and checked for leaks and all seemed ok. I checked the MAF readings with the 7193 before and after cleaning at idle and at 2200 RPM(for what it's worth). Readings from 4.6-5.6 g/s or so at idle, and 16-17 g/s or higher at 2200 RPM (no load) and really didn't see any change after cleaning. I don't know if this means anything or not. After a week or so I'm going to check for leaks with a smoke kit if I don't see any change with slopes.
