Help again folks
Hi,
Your favourite poster is back with a double whammy!!
Please look at the "run" dated 20/10. See if you can pinpoint why my car drives and sounds like a hoover.
In particular why she changes up so quick and doesn't change down until you come to a virtual stop.
In addition, I have attached my original back-up which was uploaded to the U7140 AFTER the car started running crap.
Thanks in advance folks!

Can you post your actual log instead of exporting the CSV?

Re: Help again folks
Try this. Made a custom tune for a friend some time ago and this is basically it with your intake instead.

Thanks for your help.

LOL Daanananananana Batman!
Re: Help again folks
Well thank the Lord it was fireworks night here because she's doing some serious back-firing.
Ok, put in the tune, got the usual "ENGINE TEMPERATURE WARNING" followed by "FAILSAFE MODE" just before she's finished loading.
Started her up, sounded crap as usual, and drove 50 yards.
She was stuck in gear, wouldn't go above 2000 revs and started back-firing.
She was even worse than when I put in Doug's C&L 93race/street/torque tunes.
Note that when I load the original back up, I get no "ENGINE TEMPERATURE WARNING" followed by "FAILSAFE MODE"
If I'm brave enough to put it back in I'll post a log.
You guys see anything untoward on that previous log?
My pcm/ecu has BKT2 on it. Was that posted tune compatible with that ECU as I read that tunes won't work if it's the wrong code?
I've read that Ford may have reflashed cars and although it says BKT2, it may be something completely different.
Your tune was undriveable as is C&L's.
Cheers

Re: Help again folks
Written?
Tune in car just now is your 91mm Oct suitable for all 85mm aftermarket CAI's. Car still runs poor but not as bad as the one you posted.
Tune before above was your tune.
Is this what you're after or do you want me to post the tune from the car you sent?
Thanks

Re: Help again folks
McStang has already reloaded the canned tune for after market CAI, because it did not run with the tune you provided.sohfast94 wrote:Read out the last tune written.
Did you mean to read out before reloading the aftermarket CAI tune or now with that tune loaded.
After loading any tune just before completion "ENGINE TEMPERATURE WARNING" followed by "FAILSAFE MODE", what would cause that?
Re: Help again folks
We need to verify that the tune wrote properly. Please write the custom tune to the vehicle, then head to the computer and let the tool read out the last tune written by hitting Get Tune file from tool then post that back. We'll need to verify that before continuing to troubleshoot the issue at hand.
also, what modifications do you have to the vehicle. List ANYTHING you have changed on the vehicle. were you EVER able to run a tune?

The vehicle is stock other than C&L Street CAI and SLP loudmouth exhaust.
The car was awesome when first bought. She was very responsive and had a great induction roar at wot.
After a couple of jump starts I had to replace the battery a couple of years ago. Since that very moment she has sounded poor and gear changes are poor. Induction roar went overnight and there has been bogging down in every gear. She is very sluggish.
I purchased a U7140 and the canned tunes made little difference. I managed to get the device updated to include the C&L and uploaded that tune.
For about 40miles she was back to awesome.Sadly she went rubbish again during the same trip.
Since then I have cleaned MAF, replaced the battery, replaced the throttle body, changed the plugs, fuel filter (x3) and the oil at least three times.
I then purchased custom tunes from Doug at C&L and those tunes (93race,street,torque) choke the car.She is tighter but wont let the car go above 2000 revs. Regardless of whether your canned tunes or Dougs', "Engine Temperature Warning" and "Failsafe Mode" come up as the tunes load.
I have no such warnings whilst driving.
The attached tune is even worse than the C&L tunes.
It's as if I'm in a constant failsafe mode. During acceleration, neither gear will go above 2000 revs and there is no engine braking/changes down when slowing down.
Note that the stock airbox makes no difference.
Sorry for the War and Peace
John

Re: Help again folks
So the vehicle was fine for 40 miles then the vehicle started having issues driving? The tune does not physically change, if you are having this much trouble i would say that there is an issue with the vehicle. You have already put the stock airbox on and returned the vehicle to stock correct? Does it still run poorly?
