It'd be a good idea to advertise that this thing won't work on macs. Having said that, I have it now. I know that I can buy software to run windows on my mac but I don't want to spend more money on this thing. heres whats going on. I plug the unit into my car. I get this message:
Your calibration is 05035304AE
and its not supported. we
need to downgrade to
05035304AD in order to continue.
i click agree and I get:
this vehicle needs an update.

Re: New Trinity, No PC!!!
you need to be running WINDOWS.. you can not do anything on a MAC with the Trinity... all of the necessary software is Windows-only...

Re: New Trinity, No PC!!!
Sadly, I was in a similar boat as you. Wound up getting an evaluation copy of Parallels and found an old win 7 install disc around. got the temp solution up and running, and was able to at least hook the trinity up to my jeep. It's sad that Diablo didn't look for a device/ operating system-agnostic solution. something like running a generic server like ftp or smb so this could be seen as a drive on macs, and then drop and drag would be an option.Lefty wrote:It'd be a good idea to advertise that this thing won't work on macs. The inTune works that way. But truthfully, so few people use Mac that its not really an issue most of the time.

Levy, you really need to get out more, there's a lot going on out here that you seem to be missing.
More and more Macs are being sold to old PC users than you realize. PCs no longer hold 90% of the market, as you think, and Mac does not "support" windows as you stated in a post last year. Macs are only able to run Windows because they are now running Intel processors but that doesn't mean you can boot up a Mac in Windows, you can't. You have to run Windows in a virtual machine using Boot Camp, Parallels or VM Ware. And Macs currently hold 40% to 50% of the market with many 100s of 1000s of us running Windows in virtual machines on our Macs. I've been using Macs for over 18 years and except for developers who just refuse to develop for Mac, I can do anything on my Mac that you can do on your PC and a whole lot of things that you can't do on your PC. The only reason that PCs still have a majority of the market is because they are so cheap, to purchase or to build and cheap also, for the most part, describes their quality. I'm currently sitting in my office at work where I have 2 Macs and 2 PCs that I use everyday. Would I shut down my Macs and try to do my work on just the PCs?.....Not a chance in hell. Step up to a Mac, you may find you've been missing something all along.

Re: New Trinity, No PC!!!
Well, theres obviously not enough of them for companies to bother making software for them. Or in many cases, hardware either. Sorry, but I'm not getting stuck having to buy everything from one manufacturer. I hate that about my iPhone. I'll stick with PC and be able to buy any hardware or software I feel like, regardless of who makes it, be confident that it will work, and be happy that I didn't get raped on the price.

I would think Android and its completely open platform would be right up your alley

I hate Android. I have a Nexus 7 and I just can't get used to it. Quite happy with my third iPhone, other than having to overpay for accessories.mikel wrote:i honestly can;t believe you still use an iPhoneMike_Levy wrote:Well, theres obviously not enough of them for companies to bother making software for them.
