Hi,
I just recently purchased an intune for my '13 Ram. Been having fun playing with it last couple days but I
would to have a 89 perf tune as this is the fuel I choose to run. I will eventually look at getting a custom
tune but I want to have all mods done before I pay for that.
I have been reading around forum trying to find info but haven't really found much. I did see post where
someone was asking about a 89 perf tune for a '12 Ram and was suggested to him that he "could just
simply add 2 degrees of ignition timing to the 87 octane tune and fill her up with 89 octane fuel for added power".
I am still pretty new at this tuning stuff and because I couldn't find an "ignition" section in the parameters I'm
guessing it has something to do with WOT spark.
If someone could break it down what parameters I need to change to make the 87 perf tune a 89 perf tune I
would greatly appreciate it.
Cheers,
Jim

Diablo should just make an 89 octane tune imo...........

theres not going to be any gain using 89 over 87, you can try adding a degree or two of timing to the 87 tune to see if it helps, but check for knock to make sure its not causing problems.JimV wrote:Hi,

Re: 89 Octane perf tune for 2013 Ram 1500
Would this be why I am getting Knock at WOT? I am currently running the 87 tune with 89 octane. I would think with the higher octane i wouldn't see knock. Maybe bad gas..............because I am also getting about 6 degrees of ST Knock on my original back up.mikel wrote:theres not going to be any gain using 89 over 87, you can try adding a degree or two of timing to the 87 tune to see if it helps, but check for knock to make sure its not causing problems.JimV wrote:Hi,

Waste of time running 89 oct, just bite the bullet and run 93 oct for best results to reduce ST knock.
