Next week I'm going on an interstate trip in the 300C 5.7Lt, should I keep the CAI 93 tune or reinstall the factory tune for better fuel consumption?

Based on my experience driving alot on the hwy and taking multiple 300+ mile road trips, the stock tune will yield best results. I know for a fact that MDS will kick on quicker in stock form and hold it better in my car. Also, the 93 CAI tune requires premium and adds a bit of fuel at WOT. If you run a tune, staying off the throttle is key for MPG. Others might argue differently. Also, not sure if your area has winter gas but this stuff decreases my mpg big time. I make the same road trip about 4x a year and get 30 mpg in the summer and 24 mpg in the winter. During my work commute i normally get 300 miles with a 1/4 tank left in the summer and 250 miles with a 1/4 tank in the winter!

I went on a short road trip this weekend...about 120 miles round trip. With a 93 octane custom tune i still got 22.4 mpg.

I have used the canned mpg booster tune on my ram-- it did OK, it kept me out of the complete power band to make power had the canned tune modified for my particular application and got better then the canned tune. so a small investment in custome tuning will make any of the canned tunes better.
