2012 Mustang w/ls
How about an interface that will allow me to put an LS motor in my 2012 manual trans Mustang. I want the car to function like factory but accept the LS engine like it belonged there. I'm ready.

Re: 2012 Mustang w/ls
I was reading the Greg banish book SA161 on fuel injection systems. On page 20 he mentions, a piggyback controller that intercepts and modifies the signals going to and from the factory ECU. I was wondering, something retired people do a lot, why couldn't the host cars engine sensors be used in on different engine? The ECM doesn't know one engine from another. I'm stuck with the FORD controller, I get that, I have to run the car. But engine control should be able to adapt to the provided signal whether it's genuine or programmed. I would think there is a huge market for changing out power trains in later model cars and trucks. BMR already has a K member for this LS swap into an S197 Mustang. I'm not the only one that wants to do this engine swap.
I used my tuner all last summer and it worked great. After a gear change to 3.55 gears it was a simple adjustment. Looking for 13.90s with no engine mods in my V6. Got the speed, need some ET work.

There is ZERO market for engine swaps on late models. Legality is a major issue. Legally the motor has to be from the year of the car or later, so a 2012 can use nothing older than an LS3, LS7, LS9 or LSA from a 2012-2014 car. Plus, with everything being computer controlled, you MUST use the stock computer from the car to run everything but the motor, which needs to be run through either a donor cars computer piggybacking the cars ECU, or an aftermarket computer stand alone, which often doesn't work due to the powertrain computer not knowing what the ECU is doing. All the computers are linked via the CAN Bus system, so you need to get the powertrain computer into that bus system too.
If swaps were easy tons of people would do them. They aren't. Thats why 99.99% of cars are running the same engine that came with them.
