Question about how it works

I have a successfully got the predator on my 04 ram hemi, I'm new to this and it's Probly a stupid question, will the tune be on my truck still after I've drove it and shut it off, do I have to program it everyday or will if still be there, also when a new update is available will my predator tune disappear? Mainly did the predator tune take place of my factory tune
