Canned Steeda CAI tune for 3.7 Mustang?

With it's 86mm MAF housing, can we get this as a canned tune? It's the one and only tune required CAI for the 3.7 Mustang. Seems like it would be doable in a canned tune pretty easy. I'd think the option would only help steer people to the inTune, etc.

As to quality of the CAI with it's impressive housing, I think the flow over the sensor would be laminar.

Can we get this in an update?

what size is the stock housing?

I'll measure a few times with snap gauges and dial caliper and get back to you.

I measured the stock MAF housing a few times. With the snap gauge I did my best to center it, tighten it up, and check for play moving it around. I then measured the snap gauge with my zero'd dial caliper. I came up with a range over three measurements from 2.908" to 2.910". That translates to 73.86mm and up to 73.91mm rounded to the nearest hundredth.

The Steeda CAI for the 3.7 Mustang is an "as measured by same tools" 86.6mm housing. I just tell people it's an 86mm because it's a common MAF size. The stock is close enough to say it's a 74mm.

So is it a possibility to offer a canned Steeda CAI tune for the 3.7 Mustangs like the GT's get canned CAI tunes? It's the only tune required CAI for the 3.7 Mustang.

we'll look into it.

for now, you could start by adding about 16% to the MAF curve to bring it in line, or check with any of our cmr tuners for a custom tune for that specific CAI.

So is it ok to just change the maf curve? Or does the inTune auto adjust everything in the background like the load the engine sees, vvt, etc. It's my understanding just changing the maf curve might throw things off. Is this a valid concern on the 2011+ Mustang pcms?

you can adjust the curve, but a custom tune is the best answer

i really believe in what diablo does with their tuners and customer support. with steeda making what has turned out to be the most popular cai that makes the most power on these cars now, it only makes sense for them to get a good canned tune in the db for them.

i also had a long talk with someone at steeda about them using cmr. i need to have another conversation though. im setting up a local shop as a steeda dealer if everything lines up the way i want it to here locally. but in one of those conversations,someone put it in steeda managers heads that they dont give fantastic customer service around here. which simply isnt true. so were gonna try to do something about that. diablosport may not be one of my sponsors, but honestly just as a customer they've always treated me around here just as nicely as my sponsors do. so i'll always do my part to try to help. these people, and these tuners are awesome. the way they write to ecu's is the smartest way to do it. thats something i really think everyone needs to know.

looking into this further. me picking one up for this was an extra good idea since the competition comes with a canned tune (selectable cai) for this intake out of the box.

so now were just staying competitive.
