Stupid question, when you guys get the support for the ZF 8 speed tranny supported for the Chryslers, will it work on the Audi too? I know the Chrysler cars use a different version of it, with less torque capacity in the cars and more capacity in the trucks, but I have no idea if the tuning is the same.
I really need tranny support. With the Piggyback, the transmission is having stupid fits. It gets confused during hard acceleration and causes major bucking and disrupts power transmission. And since I'm having the problem, the dozen other guys, so far, who have followed my lead and bought the Chipwerke are going to have the same problem. A way to fix it would be nice.

Re: ZF 8 speed support?
Its a non-issue right now. Just found out that they're labeling warranties for all sorts of mods. I'm going back to stock and dumping this thing as soon as I can find a 7 series with the options I want. Fucking Volkswagen.mikel wrote:would depend on them using the same trans controller and calibrations...
That uses the same ZF transmission too though (GA8HP70Z, same as the DCX trucks I think), so we'll see. The engine and trans use the same computer (MEVD1728) so I doubt they're the same though.

So who's going to buy the "gently used" VAG?

Re: ZF 8 speed support?
Don't care. I'll trade it in and take the loss for all its worth. It'll save me $2500 by not having to fix and service the stupid thing. $1500 for rear shock mounts, $540 for the 15k service, $500 to paint the rear bumper. All stuff I don't want to pay for.

And you'll be back in a SUV. Prob another X5M.

Re: ZF 8 speed support?
Not gonna be an M. If its an X5 it'll probably be a 50i, maybe a 35i, definitely and M-Sport. Can't be spending $600 a month to feed an M on top of a $900 payment. Trying to avoid an SUV though, if possible. If I do get another one, it very well could be another E70 X5. I did like that truck, other than its appetite for gas, and the stupid TPMS system. Don't like the new ones, at all.

Re: ZF 8 speed support?
Sure I would. The regular X5s have better Angel eyes. I'd take a new picture. Only savings would be in the grilles. I still have the black ones from the M.smackdownsrt wrote:But think of the savings! You wouldn't have to change your avatar!
