Hey everyone,

I have no idea what I am doing with my trinity… I have restored the original backup into the tuner from my pc, but does this mean I have unmarried it from my car???? How do you know if it is or isn't?

I have saved my custom tune on pc and restored original backup because I want to use it on my other car, but do I have to do a complete restore on my R/T or is it safe to use on the other car without having to mess with the custom one if original backup is on tuner?? Please help

Thank in advance for any responses!

restoring the backup unlocks/resets the trinity. When you are done, it says restore/reset done :)
Any custom tune you had on the tool is erased now that you restored the stock tune and reset the device, it can be used in another vehicle now.

Thanks

So I don't necessarily have to detune my r/t from its custom tune right?

Im not sure which car is which, but to go from one car to another, you must restore the original backup to the car its married to before it can be used in the next vehicle.

Thanks

Hi Mike,

That's where I am confused. I have a charger r/t daytona that is custom tuned (which my wife drives) and we just got a challenger r/t which I will now be driving. I want to tune the challenger with the trinity so I have loaded the original backup back into the trinity. The question now is, do I have to plug the trinity into the charger and put it back to stock using the original backup just so I can now tune the challenger? Or, now that the original backup is on the trinity, can I just tune the challenger without having to mess with the tuning on the charger. It would be bad if I can only have one of the cars tuned at a time. Neither my wife nor myself will be happy campers. I don't want to attempt anything until I know for sure...

Ill be honest, you are confusing me with the 'loading backup into the trinity', and some of the steps you outlined.

This is very simple.

Plug the tool into the charger. restore the original backup. The tool will be reset.
Plug it into the challenger, and you can tune it.

Thanks

I apologize for the confusion, but to sum it up basically only one of my vehicles can be tuned at a time. So in order for me to tune the challenger I'd have to put the charger back to stock. In other words if I want both my vehicles tuned to my liking I'd have to buy an extra tuner? So loading the trinity with original backup did not reset it

Once original file is backed up. The "back up original file" button becomes greyed out and is un-married by Mike's response. Correct?

Go to Options, then Last Tune Written. It will say Original Backup or Nothing to Show if its unlocked.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't see options. Maybe I missed it. I did go to tune and looked at back up and that button was greyed. It didn't give me an option to "back up original file". I assume (key word) that meant it was reset. No longer married.

it will cost you $180 to have the trinity unlocked/reset.. you can fill out the form here https://www.diablosport.com/products/unlocks.html

and the intune custom tune files will not work on a Trinity.. different file formats.. you'll have to have your custom tuner recreate your custom tunes from trinity original backup files.
