I've been having the same issue on both my laptops. It's the newest Dataviewer, even tried removing & reinstalling, same issue. If I plug it into my desktop, it works, well, to d/l any internal logs at least.
Both Windows 7 & Windows 8...no go

Version 3.3.0.10
I've even removed it from the laptop and downloaded it again. & with the revision for the Trinity, which helped the PID's, but it still WILL NOT let me datalog through my laptop
It gets to the point where it finds the device, and tries to get the info, and it stops there, every time. Then it'll say not responding on the top bar, and I have to force close it. & it'll freeze my Trinity, and I have to keep cycling it for it to work.
It's getting really annoying, since all these new updates.
If I connect the Trinity straight to my PC, it'll work (the DV), but for some reason it won't work on any laptop

I have exact same issue. Hoping for a answer to what to do, I made sure all my drivers were up to date, and dataviewer is the same verison. Doesn't work for me either.

Subscribed, i also have the same problem, but on dsp. Cant connectfdsp to laptop, dataviewer 3.3.0.10, far as it will go is acquiring vehicle info, and then freezes and i have to force close. But if i open DsDownloader, it connects to the tool fine, then i can close it and open dataviewer then it will connect to my laptop. Seems to be a temporary band aid so you can log, but on the downside of this. After you log and then disconnect the tool so you can step away from the vehicle, I cannot open the log file up. I open Dataviewer and and try to open the log, it loads half way up then freezes and i have to force close.

sounds like a possible driver issue with the pc/pc hardware itself. try running windows update. if that doesn't work then manually update ALL of your drivers by going into the device manager.
the struggle that is Windows XP is real.

it's not the laptop...man, i forgot all about this. I found a fix...it's the actual DV software. I went with an older version of DV, works perfect, no freezing, on any of my laptops now.

How would one obtain an older version of DataViewer? I have same issue. DSDownloader connects fine to tool but DataViewer ALWAYS freezes up and displays the Not Responding message everyone else.

Well I got my issues resolved. I remembered software CD that came with the Trinity, installed THAT version of DataViewer which is 3.2.0.7 and now DataViewer is working great! Also, this is running on Windows 8.1 Pro that I installed on my iMac using Boot Camp. Glad to have this issue put to bed!
