2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland v6, ABS Light - tire size

Post by jevanosdol »

Hello,

I am new to tuning, but bought the Trinity t-1000. Mainly for one purpose to correct the tire-size on my wife's Jeep. I am not interested in running a performance TUNE at this time, just want the tires size to be accurate to report correct speed and mileage. I updated the device before plugging into the Jeep. Currently Version 1r11c is installed dcx-gas. I changed the tire size to 275/55-r20 to match the aftermarket set of tires we installed. the ABS Light came on instantly  . I than reset "quick adjust menu" to try to clear it, no luck :( . as mentioned in the subject this is for a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland V6.

Also tried unplugging Jeep battery, and driving backwards to reset light nothing. they did not work.
...

When I first plugged it into the Jeep it wanted me to go get a Calibration ID from DSDownloader for my version of Jeep. I did this and it seemed to write to the computer on the Jeep, lots of on & off with keyfob, this was not mentioned in the instructions, and no "are you sure" way to back out before it was started, and was unexpected/unwelcomed before the "original backup" was saved :x . As far as I can tell there is no original back up saved, and the trinity device has my Vin, but seems to have lost the CalID, at least in the information screen.

...
I would like help fixing the ABS light and correctly adjusting the tire-size. Also help making sure a "Orginal Backup is saved to my computer" :)

If the ABS light problem is not fixed, I would like information on how to get the vehicle back to OEM, so it can be taken to the dealership and have the ABS fixed without voiding my warranty. Also information on how to return trinity through 30 day money back guarantee. :|

HELP! thanks, Jason

Hi Mike,

I have never installed a tune (and don't plan to), only quick adjust and changed tire size. Trinity did do the Calibration ID (68106016Af) once plugged into Jeep, after updating tool first time to v1r11c online. Since I have not loaded a Tune, no Original Backup was ever saved (to my understanding). I changed the tire size under quick adjust; Jeep threw the ABS light code. I restored quick adjust settings (or whatever it was called see 1st message). to reset the tire size change. ABS light stayed on.

So when I go to DS Downloader to Update Trinity T1000, as you suggested, DS Downloader says "tool appears to have Original Backup; cancel or force" I have chosen Cancel until I hear from you :?: . When trinity is plugged into Jeep, and Performance, reload Original Backup, Trinity says "no backup appears to have been saved"

ABS light still on, v1r11c still loaded. Can't update without more information.
Thanks Jason :|
