What is this chip for?

Hello there, new here, first off id like to say i dont necessarily own a ford. i spent about 10 mintues (lets be honest, more like searching the forms trying to figure out what this chip is for or a contact number. i was not to sucessfull as im posting here right now. I work at a cemetery and got assigned the task of cleaning the garage out of things not needed and i came across this in a box with pagers and floppy disks and this chip in it. the old foremen died (oh the irony) so its time to clean out his stuff. Any insight would be helpfull.

This is what i do know,
Its for a ford
Its red.
Has the following markings on it
"ford diablo chip"
"rev.3.1"
"2/01 KK"
there is a sticker that says
"1 bank"
it also has a sticker saying how clean the connector and says "2d's Performance MER3_DIA" on it. please let me know what applications its for, what it does, etc etc

its for an EECIV/EECV based ford pcm, you would flash tunes to it and put it on the pcms j-port to apply the tune.

they have been replaced by flash devices for the most part, and the chips are flashed to a specific vehicle, but I cant tell you waht vehicle it was flashed for
