CMR Does not Disable P000B

Post by macedo6466 »

I currently have a 2014 Challenger RT
Modifications:
274 Comp Cam Shaft and upgraded springs.

After the camshaft installation the vehicle has been CMR diablo tuned for a duration of two weeks plus dyno tuned twice and the vehicle still gets a check engine light P000B.
After The phaser and limiter have been replaced twice and know for sure it's nothing mechanical. I can now check
that box complete.
I still get a P000B

It now leaves me with the computer not comping with the CMR tuning.

I don't know what to do.
Any suggestions?

How long will the wait be before we see a resolution to this problem. My daily driver is running on limp mode, gas is at 13 mpg, engine no performance, engine rev's at 3k rpm at idle at a complete stop... The cmr should of eliminated this code but it has costed me $2000.00 to find out it wasn't anything mechanical on the engine that was hindering performance on my vehicle. My mechanic has come to a conclusion that Its the cmr not eliminating this code. This is after dismantilling the engine 3 times. I understand you guys are working on this problem. But my question is... Is the P000B trouble code will be fixed anytime soon? If not who can you direct me to fix this issue? If I need to send my PCM in to a shop then so be it. I need to fix this problem. Any suggestions?

Hang on....the code is not something we have ever had a request to disable until recently, as we've never even seen it before, and the code is due to something you did to the engine, its not there because of CMR by any means.

If it didn't throw the code stock, and it does after the cam swap, well....its due to the cam. Sorry for coming across this way, but it kinda sounds as if you are pointing to us or your tuner has pointed toward us as being the cause of the issue.

We are indeed the best chance at a solution, but we did not cause it.

adding anything to the templates is a time consuming task, I cant put an honest timeframe on it at this time but it is on the list.

Thanks

I'm well aware it's the Camshaft throwing this P000B code. This is the reason why I also purchased a custom CMR tune and Comp Cam 274 from the same supplier due to PCM DTC. I had the understanding that the CMR would bypass any hard codes coming from the camshaft and I guess this is what I expected after spending a couple of thousand of dollars.
The Vehicle runs fine but the VVT is not working it does not allow my vehicle to launch like a catapult.
For future reference: How would I know if there is an update on the CMR in regards to this issue? I would like get this fixed as soon as an update comes available.

Thank you,

Templates were updated last night, your tuner should be able to disable that code now.

Mike, You're Awesome!

The tune was updated and installed on my vehicle the P000B DTC was instantaneously eliminated.

Mike,

I love it.. I don't have to see that annoying light anymore. :-)
I noticed when driving it did not fix the problem as far as VVT. The vehicle won't increase or decrease
timing when it needs it. I feel like if I'm dragging a US Navy Ship. :)

My tuner noticed a lot of updates on the CMR template when he updated his software and there were some items he claims he has never seen before so he didn't want to make any adjustments to my custom tune.

Is there a particular item on the CMR that has to be adjusted in order to re-gain horsepower on my vehicle?

Mike,

It looks like at this point the cmr tunes cannot disable the P000B that the PCM is triggering. The outcome is that the PCM is not allowing Variable Valve Timing to function properly.
From the comp camshaft and and valve springs installation. Joshua has been tuning my vehicle and I call josh just about everyday. Damn feeling bad to this point. Didn't realize I was that annoying. :-)
Is there a fix for this in the near future?
And how would we find out?

Thank you.

Mike,

Yes, the P000B issues still exist but, the check engine light is off.
I'm not sure if Josh has contacted you in regards to this issue.
I'm trying to find The solution to this problem and have exhausted all means in trying to find one.
I contacted Josh this morning but the man is busy.

so, you are still seeing a P000b code when you check for codes, even with no CEL?
